Symbolism Project

In the year 5 & 6 extension group we made symbols for our buddy. We first got into pairs of two and we were asked a question, it was "You have to ask your buddy what is important to you.

Being a good friend (Writing Test)

WALT: Explain to your reader what being a good friend means
What is a good friend
What is a good friend? Are they mean, are they always putting you down instead of up. No, a good friend is kind. S/he is caring and always puts you up, they always include you and don’t say, “Go away”. If you're still unsure about a good friend read along and let me help you.

Racism about friends
It’s so annoying when someone treats you bad if you’re a different culture and their colour. You know what, a friend should never treat someone like that especially if it’s there friend. Because it doesn't matter what you look like on the outside it really depends on what you look like on the inside. People should not be racist is just not right, don't you think?

What would it feel like without friend
What if you had no friends? Would you be lonely? I think I'd be very lonely with out a friend, because friends are sometimes the only people you’ve got. That’s why you should respect your friend and not treat them badly about their colour. So a person without friends will be very very lonely.

What would happen if you got in a fight
Now here is where the real test comes in. If you're in a fight with someone especially your friend, you could really hurt her or him then you could be enemies. What you should do instead of fighting you should either go find an older family member, or maybe just try and stop the fight. Fights can cause a heap of trouble, first of all your old pal will probably not be your friend any more, and then you might get beaten pretty badly and be enemies.

How much fun it is with a friend
Finally how much fun it is doing stuff with a friend. You could Go to the movies, play games with each other (that means video games & outside games), doing whatever you love to do with your friends. Then all I want to say is life would be hard living without a friend.

Being fit

Are you Fit?

Did you know your body is an amazing machine? It just needs to be used everyday to keep it working well.

Exercise keeps your body strong and fit. Fitness means having the energy to work and play and do all the things you want to do. Your body can’t store fitness so you need to exercise regularly to stay fit.

Exercise makes you feel and look better, it keeps your body a healthy weight. It helps you relax and sleep better. When you exercise your body produces chemicals called endorphins which go to your brain and make you feel better.

Exercise for strength makes your muscles stronger, so you can work different parts of your body without feeling weak. Exercise for stamina makes your heart and lungs stronger, and helps blood flow easily around your body. Stamina is the ability to exercise without getting tired or out of breath.

So you need to move it!!!

Capitals Correcting

Capitals - what are they and when do you use them in writing?
WALT: Write an explanation telling people what capital letters are and when you use them in writing.

What are Capital letters?
Capital letters are the Upper Case letters in the alphabet. Capitals stretch from the bottom line to the top. Another thing about Capitals is they are not always the same shape as the lower case letters.

Capitals are used for I’s.
Capitals are used for many things but people sometimes find it hard to put I’s in the right place or when they write something like i’ll. For example: It’s I’ll and then if their is something like, i like those buildings. But it’s, I like those buildings. Another thing is I, I’ll and I’ve are all called personal pronouns.

Capitals are used for geographical places.
Another reason we use Capitals is when it’s names for geographical places. By this I mean places in the world. Which are names of countries, cities, continents and oceans like The Pacific Ocean.

Capitals are used for Titles.
Do you remember reading your favorite book or watching a memorable movie or TV show. Capitals have everything to do with Titles, especially for all of those movies and stuff. For example: the movie called The Lego Movie. You need Capitals because it wouldn't make any sense if it was spelt, the lego movie, Don’t you think?

Capitals are used for the date.
Do you know when some people think that even though it’s a different language that the date doesn't have Capital letters in it? Well I’m here to tell you that even though the language is different doesn't mean you take away the Capitals. For example: Monday isn't monday, that means that Rahina (Monday) isn't rahina.

Conclusion
After all that could you please leave a comment fixing up this paragraph; i like my pet panda because it just eats shoots and leaves and it is cuddly it lives in an area at the back of my house the elephant lives next door and it also eats leaves.

This is my marks for para 4.

Riverside Highlights Day 1

At riverside camp at Willow Park there were so many highlights about camp but I can’t tell you all of them so I’ll take it one day at a time

riverside highlight day 1

This year at Riverside camp we are going to Willow Park like every other year. Today is the first day of camp the bus hasn’t even arrived and we have got all our bags in the trailer. The bus ride to Willow Park wasn’t so bad. there were many highlights on the first day but for me would have to be the lunch. We had steak and cheese pies, oven baked wedges and salad.

So you can tell why I liked the lunch! Then there was one more… The crunchie hunt, it was magnificent you could choose to eat the crunchies once you found them or keep them until you come back in (and if you keep them you get money/points for your team. The winner was B ‘n’ A (Brothers ‘n’ Arms) which unfortunately wasn’t my team.

Primary Marist Tournament

This is the 4th and final game. The tournament has gone well so far. The only problem is we missed the 3rd game, against Stone Fields which I was personally looking forward to this game, but we missed it. So in the bus we go and we're off.

When we arrived at the Marist grounds 30 minutes before lunchtime, I’ve got to tell you that the weather was not on our side today. It was windy and rain came and went like it had a switch for a light. This is going to be a tough challenge today.

The whistle blew and the game started. We were ready to catch the ball… the ball was caught and the first hit up was made, down he went. This just kept happening. When the opposition had the ball they’d kick down the field and not chase after it.

The highlights of that game for me would have to be three tries. Number one, the try that I made when we were close to the out line and I scooped up the ball from the ruck and bumped my way through the opposition and scored the try. Number two, the try scored by Taimana. He was magnificent as he scored the try right by the corner on the try line right next to the out line he jumped and placed the ball on the trie line and rolled outside the field. Number three, Maysun’s try: he was running next to the out line with Tai and then Tai did a short backhand pass to Maysun and Maysun scored the try.

After the game we went inside the club rooms and had a prize giving. Surprisingly enough we got a feed, it was from Subway it was a 6 grams of fat or less ham sandwich and we also got a starz drink, man the feed was delicious. After that they announced the Girl M.V.P (Most Valuable Player) then the boy M.V.P was Stevenson from Pt England School with us cool aye. Then the moment we’ve all been waiting for the winner is… PT ENGLAND SCHOOL. Yes we won it was awesome.
