Auckland - Ambassadors at Pt England School explain to visitors around New Zealand about how it feels to learn at their school.

At Pt England School there are kids talking to adults and they call themselves Ambassadors. 

Their job is to Inform the visitors that come to school about Pt England School, whether they are random people or the President of the United States of America. Pt England School have even had an Indian Billionaire come to school.

Visitors come to Pt England School at unexpected times. All we do is talk and talk and talk. 

The way you get in you first have to apply for the job and learn a mihi and to all sorts of stuff.

If you want to be an Ambassador you have to be the right age. You first need to by year six and the age is around Nine, Ten and Eleven year olds. 

Pt England probably want younger kids to talk to visitors because they look more cute than those stinky year seven and eights, but also because the older ones already have other important jobs.

Conc : I Quoted Aaron a school Ambassador and he has told us a lot.

Yes because it has an intro thats says “We can’t tell you the name because it could endanger the lives of the relatives still living in their country.

2) Why are the children in the story allowed to go to school?

Because their parents are part of the council.

3) Who is helping the family escape?

The dads friend.

4) Why can’t they trust anyone to help them?

Because they might tell the president about it.

5) What is one reason that the family likes living in New Zealand?

Because know one can find them and they will be safe.

6) How long did the family spend in the Refugee camp?

The family spent two years in the refugee camp.

7) What language is the mother learning?

The mother is learning the language of English.

A Change For Year 7 & 8

A Change For Year 7 & 8!

There’s been a change in uniform at Pt England School. The year 7 & 8s get new uniform so they’re distinguished from smaller learners.

Did you know that only 2% of the Seniors don’t have the uniform because of cost? At Pt England School the year 7 & 8 get Jackets which cost $56, Culottes (For girls) which cost $54, the hats which cost $10 and PE Shirts which cost $55.

What the uniforms look like

The seniors liked to have manly black on their uniform unlike the other kids who have manly red. The Jackets have a zip down the front and have the usual pockets on both sides and red stripes with the logo of our school, plain black Hats, plain black Culottes and red Pe Shirts with black stripes on both sides of their hips.

Interviewing Mrs Flavell about the Jackets

Mrs Garden asked Mrs Flavell about the Jackets. “We have a different option, it’s just so you can distinguish the senior children from everybody else” she said. “It’s actually decided some time ago when we decided about when we were turning into an intermediate school, that would they like a change, will they still want to where there sweatshirts?” Then Mrs Garden asked how many people actually end up bying the uniform, “%98, so nearly every child has a school Jacket.”
