My first Think board for the year

This is my first think board for the term and the year. What think boards do is they first start with a problem. Then you solve it and show the strategy you used for it. After that you make up a word story problem also ad 10 similar questions. Then you show a diagram, this particular diagram isn't the best quality you could have but it'll have to do.

Addition Problems

Welcome back to 2016, if you may not know this is an Alphabet Addition. You look at the word you're trying to put into a number (e.g. day). Then you look at the letters that are compared to numbers and you do it letter by letter and in the end you have a number. Day = 14 + 10 + 250 = 274

Number knowledge

Today I have a math presentation. It is also another practice for the test. I've learnt to read the question carefully and not leave out any detail.

Practice for test think board

This think board is a practice for the test that is coming up soon. So that means this'll give me some extra help towards the test. I'll do my best and hopefully do very well!

Thinkboards with decimals

This is yet another one of my think boards. This particular think board is practice for the exams that are coming up soon. It's about decimal addition, the main key to think boards is the way you work out the problem, Hence the name think boards.

Ratios and Proportions

This presentation is about ratios and proportions. A way to write a ratio is say there are 80 birds on a lake, 37 were swans and 43 were ducks. What is the ratio of the swans to ducks... Tell me the answer in the comment. 

Ratio Practice

This maths presentation is about ratios. Miss Clark is getting us used to ratios and how they work. I've learnt to look at the whole question and learnt that I have to look at what's around me and find new ways of solving the problem.

Addition Think Board

This Thinkboard is a little different to the others because this one is addition so partitioning will do the trick. Hope that it's right and it matches. If it's wrong then please correct me.

Think Board Number Something

This think board is just like the rest of them. It involves stratigies beyond compare... not really. Just please look at it and if there is anything that looks wrong then comment and tell me.

Addition Triangle

Hello everyone again, this blog post is different to the rest of my other posts. This one is a addition triangle. The point of this exercise is to add the numbers together so it adds up to a total of 3.518. If I got any addition problems wrong then please comment below and show me the right solution.

My New Life At PT England School

4 weeks ago I started year 7 at PT England School (PES). It has been an awesome time here with my new life. I'm doing a lot of different things, but you know in an interesting way.  This shall be an amazing, but challenging and adventures year. I've made new friends and have caught up with old ones. It's great, I'm in my dream class with Mrs Tele'a. We split up for Literacy and Numeracy, I'm with Mrs Tele'a for Literacy and with Miss Clark for Numeracy.

Speaking about Literacy I just did my writing test today and hopefully I did well. I shall be doing my Maths test tomorrow which'll be very exciting! I'm involved in somethings like Sport and kapa haka. If you didn't know and it is your first time on my blog then I have my own little laptop which is where I access all of my learning.
